I'm so lucky I get to do what I love. So I work every day to be better at it - for myself and for the people that benefit from my work.
I grew up in Co. Meath and moved to Limerick to study in UL. I finished a Bachelors of Science in Media & Performance Technology with a first class honours. During my time there, I made a lot of new skills including, graphic design, video editing, coding, interaction design and music production. I went on to study a Masters of Science in Interactive Digital Media at Trinity College Dublin as I knew digital and experience design was my passion.
As part of my college experience, I completed an internship with Skores.com in Paris in 2017. My position was SEO manager of the English websites. The websites I looked after were Wincomparator and Sportytrader. During my time there, I improved my knowledge of SEO and website design. I used tools like SEMrush, Majestic, Google Analytics and Google AdWords. As well as that, my basic skills drastically improved like my communication and written skills, as I was writing articles for the website daily.
During my masters degree, I got a summer internship in Guidewire as a UX Design Intern. I absolutely loved my time there and I felt very privileged to have been given the chance to work on real life projects. I learned tons of new skills and how the agile world works.
The day after I finished my Masters, I got a job as a Junior Product Designer in VSware. They are the leading provider for secondary school management software in Ireland. I work with one other designer, changing the secondary school industry one pixel at a time.
Not only have I flourished academically, I have also excelled as an Athlete representing Ireland as a 110m hurdler. I have won Meath Senior Athlete of the year in 2019 and 2017, after winning Meath and Leinster medals, and most importantly coming in the top 6 of the All-Ireland Championships. I competed for Ireland twice in the Celtic games, finishing 2nd in 2018 in Glasgow.
